Volunteers Put 3,300 'Graves' On National Mall
On Thursday morning, volunteers and members of the clergy from Newtown, Ct. placed more than 3,300 "grave markers" in a mock cemetery on the National Mall.
Each 'grave' honors every person killed as result of gun violence since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
The Rev. Jim Wallis of Sojourners, the Rev. Michael McBride of PICO National Network and others will hold a 24-hour vigil at 11:30 a.m. The clergy will call on Congress to vote on the gun violence prevention legislation expected on the floor of the Senate.
The vigil is sponsored by the PICO National Network's Lifelines to Healing campaign and Sojourners
