The Rev. Jim Wallis, Christian Activist, To Speak Thursday At Dillard

The Rev. Jim Wallis, an author and advocate for social justice, will speak Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Georges Auditorium at Dillard University. The free lecture is the first of a series of events that will culminate in Walter M. Kimbrough's inauguration Saturday as Dillard's seventh president.

Wallis' speech is part of Dillard's Brain Food lecture series.

The author of 10 books, Wallis has served on the White House Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. He also founded Sojourners, a Christian organization committed to social justice.

The next event on the inauguration-weekend schedule will be a concert Friday at 8 p.m. in the Georges Auditorium. Performing will be Ledisi, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and the Dillard University Choir.
