Malone to host conference on immigration-related issues
The Rev. Dustin White calls immigration the civil-rights issue of his generation.
On Saturday, White, 29, and associate professor Julia Villasenor will spearhead a “G92 Immigration Conference” from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Malone University’s Johnson Memorial Chapel at 2600 Cleveland Ave. NW.
Speakers include Matthew Soerens of World Relief, Lisa Sharon Harper of Sojourners and Arturo Martinez, a resident immigrant. There also will be workshops, a session on human trafficking, a DREAM Act panel, and a prayer vigil on the courthouse plaza in downtown Canton.
