Evangelical leaders push for immigration reform

Exhausted by partisan gridlock, some of the country’s most prominent evangelical leaders took it upon themselves to begin pressuring Congress and the president for immigration reform. More than 150 evangelical leaders denounced the nation’s current immigration policy during a press briefing on Capitol Hill this week and some, including Tom Minnery, senior vice president of policy for Focus on the Family, called for Republicans and Democrats to offer a “restitution” process that would lead to a path for legal residency.
