Evangelical group releases ad in support of immigration reform
The debate over the Senate immigration bill appears to be generating a small ad battle in Tennessee.
Evangelical Immigration Table, a coalition that includes the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, World Relief and the Willow Creek Community Church, one of the nation’s largest congregations, announced Thursday that it will launch a radio campaign in favor of immigration reform. Opponents of the bill are already up on talk radio.
The 1-minute pro-reform spot will be airing in Nashville on WFFH, a Christian radio station. Voiced by Sandy Willson, senior pastor of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, the ad urges listeners to become “prayer partners” with the group by visiting a website, prayer4reform.org, where they can join its email list.
