Evangelical Christians launch campaign to #Pray4Reform of immigration system

References to immigrants and immigration appear 92 times throughout the Old Testament — a fact that some Evangelical Christians are citing as biblical rationale for their support of comprehensive immigration reform.

As the Republican Party launches an outreach effort to woo Latino voters, the Texas-based Evangelical Immigration Table coalition is funneling $250,000 into an ad campaign across 13 states for what it calls “ethical immigration reform.”

The coalition said the ads would supplement its 92-day “Pray for Reform” campaign in support of the bipartisan immigration reform overhaul approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier this month. The funds for the ad campaign are drawn from coalition member organizations and denominations.
