The church and public conversation: opening the door
The church ‘wants in’ on the conversation. We want to be a place where public conversation happens – or, at least, we should want to be. Last week, Bible Society hosted a round table discussion with Jim Wallis, sometime adviser to the President of the United States, Ken Costa, the investment banker appointed by the Bishop of London as an intermediary between the Occupy protesters and the City, and some Occupy London supporters.
We were delighted to convene this conversation. Jim Wallis and Ken Costa are two of the outstanding voices that need to be heard just now.
