Jim Wallis is a man of deep Christian faith. The editor of Sojourners magazine, he also is what he calls "convener" of Call to Renewal, a very ecumenical network of evangelical, Roman Catholic, Pentecostal, African-American and mainline Protestant churches that works to overcome poverty.

...the activist preacher says Methodists have a strong social-reform component to their faith, and he’s excited to see it develop in Bush. "That’s where I want to see him go, from self-help to social reform. His Methodist faith is strong on both," says Wallis.
