The 65 primary signatories to the Circle of Protection represent a wide array of denominations and groups: Catholics, Protestants, conservatives, liberals, whites, blacks and Latinos — including the National Association of Evangelicals, the Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Christian social justice organization Sojourners.

"We've already written the text. The narrative is there. Just follow it, and put it on a national stage," Mero said during the National Immigration Forum's National Strategy Session conducted Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
Some 450 faith, law enforcement and business leaders are taking part in the meetings to urge the incoming Congress and the Obama administration to make immigration reform a priority in 2013.

A coalition of evangelical activists converged on Washington Tuesday to unveil their plan for immigration reform and to urge Congress, during an election year, to address the issue.

The Rev. Jim Wallis, who leads the Christian social justice group "Sojourners" in Washington, D.C., took strong offense to Beck's comments.
Wallis has begun a "Tell Glenn Beck: I'm a Social Justice Christian" campaign on his Web site, www.sojo.net.
The Huffington Post, looking at the results, pointed out "the strong disbelievers being more than twice as likely as the strong believers to make $100,000 or more a year." The Post put the survey in a context of the politicians debating what lessons they "should draw from religion to address issues such as the nation's deficit." For example, the Sojourners evangelical group want a shared sacrifice to help the poor. Others argue for a prosperity gospel that God will financially bless believers.
