  • L'Arche Mobile needs live-in assistants to mentally handicapped adults. We seek to create communities of peace where adults who are mentally handicapped and those who help them live, work, and share their lives together.   • Disciples' House is a one-year program for people drawn to live, work, and learn together in association with Jubilee Ministries and the Church of the Saviour. Intentional Christian living and community impact are focused on through volunteer service with a local Washington, D.C. community.   • Emmaus Center is seeking an administrative services director. Join us as we minister to the homeless and rural poor in coastal Maine.   • Intercultural Nursing, a non-profit organization that works through mission and health department sites, is seeking all types of nurses, NPs, and translators for short-term volunteer opportunities in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.   • Project Help Stay Out is a newly formed program that offers options and opportunities for women who have been incarcerated. We provide a mentoring relationship to assist in meeting goals such as job placement, education, and housing, and we hope to establish a halfway house on Maryland's Eastern Shore.     • Employment Opportunites

    Maple City Health Care Center, a non-profit, community-oriented health care center, has openings for a family practice physician and nurse practitioner with a community health or family practice focus. We seek to provide integrated health care that is affordable and accessible for the members of the low-income neighborhoods of Goshen, Ind. Our office is bilingual in Spanish and English.     • Responding to the call of the Nicaraguan people, "Economic Violence in the Globalizing Economy" will be the subject of a Witness for Peace delegation to Nicaragua July 9-25, 1997. Time will be spent in Washington, D.C., with representatives from the World Bank, State Department, and leading NGOs; in Nicaragua meeting with independent researchers and church, business, labor, women's, and human-rights leaders; and several days will be spent living with a Nicaraguan family.   • The annual Stoody-West Fellowship, for graduate study in religious journalism, and the Leonard M. Perryman Communications Scholarship for Ethnic Minority Students, for undergraduate study in religious journalism or mass communication, are being offered by United Methodist Communications.   • Denver Urban Ministries provides mission experiences of one to seven days for groups. Projects might include working with children, painting homes or churches, or preparing meals in a soup kitchen.
