The Common Good

Sandi Villarreal

Web Editor and Director of Online Media

Sandi Villarreal was born in San Antonio, Texas — one of six — and could regale you with facts about her home state.

She comes to Sojourners via stops in St. Louis, Chicago, and Minneapolis. She holds a BA in Journalism and Political Science from Baylor University and an MS in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She has worked in book publishing, traditional newspaper journalism, online journalism, and non-profit community development.

Sandi is most interested in writing about the intersection of faith, politics, and culture, especially as it relates to the role of women both in our pews on Sundays and in our society in general.

Sandi is married to a Lutheran preacher from Arkansas and enjoys wine tasting and watching the San Antonio Spurs.
