The Common Good

Elaina Ramsey

Assistant Editor

Elaina Ramsey comes to Sojourners magazine with a passion for all things theological and political. Elaina is grateful for the editorial team for taking her on, and is honored to be a part of the Sojourners community.

Just like any good millennial, Elaina has tried her hand at multiple interests. She has served as a youth minister at Transfiguration Lutheran Church in the South Bronx; a field organizer for a presidential campaign; a Beatitudes Society fellow for grassroots outreach at Jubilee USA; an assistant editor for the Wesley Journal; and a field coordinator for Women’s Action for New Directions. One day she hopes to add massage therapist to her repertoire.

She received her BA from Capital University, where she studied international relations, sociology, and music. Elaina also holds an MA in theological studies from Wesley Theological Seminary, and an MA in international peace and conflict resolution from American University.

Elaina is married to a Methodist pastor and resides in northern Virginia. She is an avid singer, U2 fan, runner, Groupon collector, and lover of puppies and penguins. She can also be found desperately trying to learn Spanish in order to speak with her in-laws.
